Download and Setup Xcode iOS | Beginner’s iOS Guide 2021

This tutorial will help you to start building iOS Apps using Xcode. First, let us understand the requirements to set up Xcode and what is Xcode.

Xcode is an application that developers use to build apps for Apple’s various platforms such as iPhone, iPad, Macs, AppleTV, and Apple Watch. It requires macOS 10.14.4 or later and 7.6 GB of hard drive space. If you don’t meet the minimum requirements, you can try to update Xcode using this method (at your own risk).

The latest version of Xcode is 12. If you want to check what version of Xcode you currently have, just launch it and on the welcome screen, you’ll see it clearly stated.

You can find the DMGs or XIPs for Xcode and other development tools on https://developer.apple.com/download/more/ (requires Apple ID to login).

*(Newest on top. For each minor version (6.3, 5.1, etc.) only the latest revision is kept in the list.)

*With Xcode 12.2, Apple introduces the term “Release Candidate” (RC) which replaces “GM seed” and indicates this version is near final.

The easiest way to download Xcode for free is through the Mac App Store. Click the link to go to the listing. You can also download it manually if you don’t have the Mac App Store. Just visit the Apple Developer page for Xcode.

Step 1 :

Open App Store. By default, the App Store is in the Dock. You can also find it in your Launchpad.

Step 2 :

In the search field in the top-right corner, type “Xcode” and press the Return key.

Step 3 :

Xcode is a free application developed by Apple, so just click the “Get” or “Download” button and start the installation process.

..voila! Xcode setup is done in quick and easy steps! If you find this tutorial helpful do share with your colleagues and if any issues while following the above steps then comment and let us know.
